Nutcracker Auditions: 

Auditions will be held on September 11 and 12 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm
There is a $15.00 fee per child to cover the costs of the mailings.

4-5 years old: Saturday September 11 - arrival 12:00-12:30 Audition 12:30-1:30
6-7 years old: Saturday September 11 - arrival 1:00-1:30 Audition 1:30-2:30
8-9 years old: Saturday September 11 - arrival 2:00-2:30 Audition 2:30-3:30
10-11 years old: Saturday September 11 - arrival 3:00-3:30 Audition 3:30-4:30
Novice: Saturday September 11 - arrival 4:00-4:30 Audition 4:30-5:30

(Novice is a beginner that takes less than 2 hours per week and no pointe shoes, 12 and up)

12-14 years old: Sunday September 12 - arrival 1:30-2:00 Audition 2:00-4:00
15 years and up: Sunday Spetember 12 - arrival 3:30-4:00 Auditions 4:00-6:00

Boys need to come with their age groups.


Nutcracker Performance Dates:

December 10, 11, and 12, 2010 at the TCC Southeast Campus in the Van Trease Performing Arts Center located off 81st and Highway 169.

Cd's of Sleeping Beauty pictures taken by Ms. Farry (posed photos) will be available for pickup after August 16, 2010 at the studio.  Studio hours are posted on the Dance Pointe website:  www.thedancepointe.com.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

    1. Is my child guaranteed a part in the production? Yes. All children who audition and can meet their required rehearsals will receive a part.
    1. Are there parts for boys and girls and all levels?  Yes.
    1. What are the age requirements? 4yrs-19yrs
    1. We have pre-planned vacations, dance classes and camps planned. Can we still participate?  Yes. Please indicate these dates on your audition form, and STCB will work around them. Continuous “no shows” or cancellations, however, may result in dismissal.
    1. Will there be additional costs? No. All costumes and rehearsals will be free of charge. The dancers do have to provide their own shoes and tights, and some may need an undergarment (skin colored leotard), depending on role assigned.
    1. When are the rehearsals and how long will they be?  You will receive a schedule of rehearsal times with your acceptance package.
    1. Where are the rehearsals? At the Dance Pointe.
    1. May we stay to watch rehearsals?  No, due to limited parking and the size of the facility.
    1. When is the performance?  To be announced.
    1. Do we have to buy tickets to the show if our child is in the production? Yes. STCB is a non-profit organization, and all proceeds from the show will be used to pay for the facility (TCC) and then put towards dance scholarships for students at participating studios.
    1. Will there be scholarship opportunities for participating in this production?  Yes
    1. How can I help? You will be given opportunities to help with checking in children and directing parking lot traffic. There will also be ways to help through monetary and supply donations. Look for volunteer opportunity information in your acceptance package.
